5 Things You Can Do When the Day is Going Horribly Wrong.

All you need is 5 minutes to start having a good day again.

1. Laughing yoga – Hayasa Time: 60 seconds

Doing this video proved to me that this simple technique is the most powerful way to relax and see things a bit brighter. It is easy and can be done anywhere and I find the most effective is the Silent Laughter, because it is so deep in its effect. I really had a day that sucked wind and I felt so invigorated after doing Hayasa for over two minutes.

2. Remember your favorite funny faces when you were 7 years old. Make them in front of a mirror.
Time: 60 seconds

3. Silence. Breath through your nose. Just notice the feeling of your breath coming in and out your nostrils. Time: 60 seconds

4. Stand. Arms at your side. Close your eyes and just notice your balance. Time: 60 seconds

5. Give yourself a hug. YOU know that old high school trick where it looks like you are making out with someone. Really squeeze, like bear hug. Time: 60 seconds

That is a total of 5 minutes and can all be done in the privacy of a bathroom. Try it and tell me what you discovered about yourself!

Teetering on the Edge of Excellence

I had a challenging day yesterday. I was fighting technology and technology was fighting back! On top of this I drove for two and a half hours, in the rain. Then I had to re-aquaint myself with this PowerBook when I am use to working with a duet workstation, Mac and Boxx PC, and I was floundering sweetums. Not a pretty sight.

I tried to participate in my first ever #artwalk. I was very excited. And that’s when I discovered that all of the playing around with my new Tweet Toys had been flagged and my punishment was that my tweets have been removed from Twitter search results. Ok, I over-reacted. I was heart-broken. And appalled that I had done something wrong. It’s the Catholic school girl in me.

It didn’t help that on top of all of this happening I am getting ready to announce that my new online card shop is celebrating their opening! I am working on the programming with a brilliant team and got my best idea directly from talking to customers on Twitter! I have to say that my customers are really my friends. But it is not surprising that I take being the Greetums Lady seriously.

I was exhausted by 10pm. My hubbie didn’t get back from his long day of working on the TV show Law & Order until almost 10:30pm. His call time was early and I needed to get quiet. And in this quiet moment, as I drifted off to catch the bus to Dreamland, I had the most amazing thought…I am about to do something GREAT!

I mean dare I say so cool it will achieve red-hotness!

I asked my friends over on Twitter if they ever felt this way and @LissaRankin replied, “Yes, as if you are teetering on the edge of excellence”! YES, she gave my feeling that perfect word. I am teetering on the edge of EXCELLENCE.

Have you ever felt this way? Please leave a comment below.

Monday Morning

I have been working double shifts and 7 days a week for so long I no longer relate to Mondays as the first day after two days off of work. But I suspect there is alot more to the Monday Blues than just going back to a hateful job.

Maybe it’s just fun to drag our feet a little bit on Monday morning and get as little as possible done until lunch? But when I did work in a “normal” office I noticed that there were the Tuesday morning blues, and the Wednesday morning blues, and the Thursday morning blues. But on Friday everyone was too excited about the upcoming weekend to get much done! What do you think about Monday morning blues?
